Strongest coating on the market

Our Durability Titanium Coating (DUTI-Coating®) sets a new benchmark in wooden floor protection. This advanced finish combines the warm, natural appearance of a hardwax oil with the exceptional resilience of a high-performance sealing system. While most wooden floors are finished with either UV oil or hardwax, our DUTI-Coating® merges the strengths of both into one superior, multi-layered process.

First, we apply your chosen colour to enhance the natural grain of the oak. Next, a water-based, high-performance sealing layer is added to prevent liquids from penetrating the wood. Finally, a matt or ultra-matt UV-cured hardwax layer provides a beautifully natural finish that is extremely durable. The result is a coating that is up to 7 times more wear-resistant than traditional UV oils or hardwax finishes.

Highlights:

  • Exceptional scratch, stain, and moisture resistance
  • Taber test: 750 rounds (7× stronger than standard UV oil or hardwax)
  • Micro-scratch resistance: no visible marks

Why choose Dutzwood for South-Africa?

In South Africa, wooden floors often face challenges due to strong sunlight, fluctuating temperatures, and humidity, which can cause warping, cracking, or excessive wear.

At DutzWood, we solve these problems with our highest quality European engineered oak floors. Each plank combines a European oak top layer with a waterproof birch plywood base, providing exceptional stability and strength. On top, our advanced DUTI® coating protects against scratches, stains, moisture, and wear, ensuring the floor maintains its beauty over time. The result is a floor that performs reliably in every South African climate, from coastal homes to properties inland.

Wooden floor thickness options

Our oak wooden floors come in a variety of thicknesses, making it possible to select the ideal combination of plank width, budget, and project requirements. We are happy to advise on the best solution for your project in terms of budget and desired plank size, and based on this, we determine the most suitable floor thickness.

Thicker floors are naturally more expensive, but they offer increased stability, durability, and a longer lifespan. Narrower planks, such as 180 mm and 220 mm, are available in 12 mm total thickness, while our most popular 12+4 mm option is suitable for planks up to 300 mm wide. Wider planks, such as 340 mm and 380 mm, require thicker constructions to ensure stability and prevent movement over time.

Available thicknesses:

  • 12 mm: 9 mm waterproof birch plywood + 3 mm European oak top layer
  • 16 mm: 12 mm waterproof birch plywood + 4 mm European oak top layer
  • 19 mm: 15 mm waterproof birch plywood + 4 mm European oak top layer
  • 20 mm: 15 mm waterproof birch plywood + 5/6 mm European oak top layer
  • 24 mm: 18 mm waterproof birch plywood + 6 mm European oak top layer
